Manufacturing facility London, Ontario with 8 Physical servers for 100 user environment.
Legacy application running on older equipment. They had many operational interruptions due to hardware failures and frequent downtime was affecting the productivity of the business
Customer wanted to have only On Prem solution ongoing due to serving niche public sector. Challenge was to get a solution to fit their budget and keeping some users of legacy application operational until it’s upgraded to comply with new software versions.
Solution Provided
Hardware footprint was consolidated to 2 physical servers Lenovo Think System SR650s with 10 VMs using VMWare. Local Replication done with Quorum onQ 10TB Archive Vault (Quorum SAN) with Cloud Retention. It was configured for High availability, Disaster Recovery, DRaaS, and Ransomware Recovery. Two Step Exchange Migration ( From Exchange 2012 to 2016, Exchange 2016 to Exchange 2019 ) was a part of infrastructure upgrade project, along with Active Directory Upgrade from Windows 2012R2 to Windows Sever standard 2019. Kemp Technology LoadMaster LM-X3 was implemented in addition. Network upgraded to Cisco SG350X layer3 Switches and Cisco Meraki Firewall VPN.
Result
In this Scenario, IT admin will be able to start the virtual copy of their any of critical servers, Exchange Server and/or application server (VM Clone or Recovery Node) of the failed server on the locally deployed onQ HA Appliance. In case of local disaster, they will have option to recover from cloud.
